"The skill and knowledge to build natural shelters is the most important
thing any beginning bushcrafter can possess.
Why?
Because adequate shelter is the most
critical component for survival in the woods."
Dave Canterbury
"Bushcraft 101 - A field guide to the Art of Wilderness Survival"
We at Spirited Adventure completely agree with Dave Canterbury, that natural shelter knowledge is one of the most important skills to own and understand as a bushcrafter.
A well made shelter will keep you more comfortable, allow to rest and sleep better which is essential for your physical and mental well-being. A well constructed debris shelter can last for several months which means it can be used for short to long term living.
Most people know how to pitch a tent and even a tarp creating a shelter to protect themselves from the wind, rain, sun and heat. But can you still keep yourself and others safe, warm and protected if you do not have any man made equipment with you.
It is for this reason we created the "Debris Survival Shelter Overnighter 2 Day" Adventure.
During your two days in the woods you will learn how to make a debris shelter and sleep in it, firelighting skills, trapping skills, cook and eat your own wild game (rabbit), how to find water and make it safe to drink.
