What to Bring

This adventure takes place outdoors over two days, including an overnight stay camping in a tent or under a tarp. Please dress and pack accordingly. The list below is intended as a guide to help you prepare and stay comfortable throughout your adventure.

Camping Gear (Overnight)

  • Enough clean, dry clothing for two days

    • Always bring at least one full dry change in case you get wet

  • Sleeping bag, pillow and sleeping mat

  • Warm hat (especially for the evening and night)

  • Warm jacket or coat for the evening

  • Wash kit / toiletries

Clothing & Equipment for the Day

  • Waterproof, comfortable footwear

    • Walking boots, wellingtons, or footwear you don’t mind getting muddy or wet

  • Comfortable trousers

    • Avoid denim if possible — jeans absorb water and become cold and uncomfortable when wet

  • Long sleeves and trousers

    • Helpful for warmth and protection from insects

  • Layered clothing

    • Shirts, hoodies, jumpers, and a coat to stay warm and dry

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers if you have them

    • If not, at least a good waterproof jacket and an umbrella

  • Peak hat or cap (can help with shooting)

Personal Items

  • Snacks and drinks for the day

  • Camera (don’t forget it!)

  • Please avoid excessive jewellery, large rings, or necklaces that may restrict movement or safe rifle handling

  • No alcohol before activities

Self-Catering Meals

Please bring your own food for:

  • 2 lunches

  • 1 evening meal

  • 1 breakfast

  • Any additional snacks or drinks you may want

We will have a communal open fire available for cooking, which you are welcome to use. You may also create a fire at your own camp area. Full guidance and safety instruction will be provided.

Please bring your own stoves and cooking equipment. If you need advice or may require equipment hire, get in touch — we may be able to help. Plates, cups, and cutlery are provided for shared use.

Cooking on an Open Fire

There are three simple ways to cook using an open fire:

  • In it – boiling pans, jacket potatoes

  • On it – frying

  • Over it – toasting & roasting

Try to bring food that requires minimal preparation and uses as few cooking pots as possible. If you’d like advice, just ask.
