A Two-Day Historical Trapping &

Wilderness Living Experience

Inspired by the Frontiersmen of America, Circa 1800s

James from Spirited Adventure, together with Trevor and Beccy from Trevor Feral Stephens, have teamed up to deliver a unique and immersive weekend of hands-on bushcraft, historical trapping knowledge, authentic frontier cooking, and wilderness living skills.

Step back in time and discover the life-sustaining skills used daily by hunters, trappers, and frontiersmen as they travelled the forests and plains of early America. Course Activities Include.

  • Tomahawk throwing. Knife & saw skills, including safe and effective tool use. Sustainable green wood harvesting techniques.
  • Building a variety of traditional traps, including:
    • Spring / Twitch-Up Traps
    • Figure 4 Deadfalls
    • Bird Snares
    • Paiute Deadfalls
    • Live Traps & Fish Traps
  • Fire lighting techniques, including Bow Drill friction fire, and campfire cooking skills. Air rifle marksmanship. Game preparation techniques
  • Authentic frontier-inspired evening meal and breakfast recipes.

 

Woodland Camp Experience

Bring your own tarp, hammock, or tent and camp within our beautiful 13-acre private woodland in the heart of Shropshire. If you are new to woodland camping, tarps can be provided for those wishing to experience sleeping under the trees for the first time. Facilities include:

  • Main parachute-covered fire pit. Camp kitchen area. Covered classroom. Toilet facilities. Pots, pans, cooking equipment, and cutlery.
